Vintage U.S. Antarctic Scientific Exploration Mission “South Pole Queen Maud Land-1”(SPQMLT-1) desk FLAG, aprox. 12” tall and base aprox. 2 5/8”, engraved on base “Dec 6, 1964 South Pole”. Has a flagrant repair at top and some wear, base a bit of age and spot, overall good condition. They were given to team members. This mission kicked off on Dec 6, 1964 and happened in 3 parts from 1964-1968 and studied Antarctic ice thickness, elevation of landscape, rate of ice accumulation and more. U.S., Belgium and Norway participated. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
