    Description

    Holy Grail! The first, the very first subway token.
    This was the token that was used from June through September of 1953 when token passage was first instituted. After that, the small Y token acquired the iconic Y cut out and became the small Y cut-out token that was in use through 1970. After this original version's four month run, it was discontinued and pulled from circulation, which would explain why these "first, first tokens" are now, ummmm....should I say... rare!
    The token you see is from my personal collection and the very token you will receive. Enough said.
