Coalport Coalbrookdale Hand Painted Floral Encrusted Chocolate Cup & Saucer C. 1830
Rare Coalport Coalbrookdale porcelain double handled chocolate cup and saucer. With hand painted flowers in pink, purple, blue, and white. Relief molded and gilt scrollworks and leaves around the bottom of the cup, foot rim, edge of the lid, and around the well and edge of the saucer. Heavily floral encrusted with hand painted flowers in purple, yellow, orange, pink, and blue. Unmarked. Circa 1830.
Has numerous losses to the floral encrustation, a repair to one of the leaves on the saucer and to one flower, and a Y shaped hairline to the bottom of the saucer. The finial to the lid has been broken off at one time and glued back on. One of the handles has also been broken off and glued back on.
The cup measures approximately 6 inches wide from handle to handle x 5 3/8 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 6 1/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
