Description
Hi everyone! I developed and have offered this solution exclusively to M3Forum members for almost 10 years, now I am making it available to all and including the necessary tool! Viton Fluoroelastomer high-temperature O-Rings to fix the infamous CPV oil leak on the S54 motor. These rings are much higher quality than the Buna-N o-rings that are used for most gaskets (including the CPV). These have twice the temperature threshold (400 degrees) and are much more resistant to oil/petroleum products. If you notice an oil leak under the car where the engine and transmission meet that appears to be the rear main seal, its most likely this. It isn't the valve that has failed, but the o-ring seal itself has hardened and failed. In fact, the CPV itself is not a common failure item, so replacement is not necessary. Exact fit to factory specs! The o-ring on the CPV WILL leak, it is just a matter of when. Even if you are purchasing a new CPV, you should still replace the o-ring with this more durable one! Includes special tool for CPV removal. A 4" extension is recommended. If performing this job with stock headers, a swivel tool will also assist in accessing the valve
Fits the following vehicles:
2001-2006 E46 M3
2001-2002 M Coupe/Roadster
2006-2008 Z4 M Coupe/Roadster
**PLEASE NOTE: ONLY INCLUDES O-RINGS AND TOOL ONLY, NOT THE VALVE. Ref BMW Part#: 11111318185
This kit includes:
*(2) Premium Viton CPV O-Rings developed by mpower22; 1 primary ring, 1 spare backup ring
*(1) 1/2" Drive Drag Link Flat/Slotted Socket (bit size will be larger than 3/8"; as anything 3/8" or smaller will strip or damage the valve) 11/16-3/4" socket is too large and will not fit.
BULK PRICING AVAILABLE!
To purchase just the o-rings or if you want a bulk price or for international customers, please contact me on the forum; my handle is mpower22 or search "FS CPV". I have an undisputed reputation on M3Forum! Beware of other sellers out there; my solution has been copied by several others, most are questionable. There are some people online selling a knockoff version of my o-ring, which will fail again - and one other seller on here selling the improper material for the fix (hence the "no warranty" disclaimer. Go with a proven solution! For more information, just see my writeup on M3Forum!
